French mountain of Vercors

Overlooking the Rhone Valley at 100 km from Lyon, the Vercors plateau is a fortress accessible by the attractive and scenic roads which will enable you to admire impressive cliffs of more than 1000 meters high such as Laval Valley.

The mountain of Vercors is composed of a multitude of spectacular valleys and plateaus, such as those of Ambel and Font d'Urle from where you will enjoy an outstanding view on other plateaus or on the Rhone Valley.

Covered with meadows, these plateaus are mountain pastures opened each year by the Transhumance festivity.

Place of outdoor sports  where the environment is protected, the Mountain of Vercors and its Natural Park are a privileged site for hiking or mountain biking in summer and snowshoeing or cross-country skiing in winter.

At the bend in the gorges and moutain passes, you will visit the Regional Nature Park (NRP)of Vercors and discover its preserved wildlife. Hearing the deer slab, picking mushrooms, discovering wild orchids, fishing in the rich in fish rivers, are some of the numerous activities that are waiting for you in the Vercors Nature Park.
