Founded in 1137 by 12 monks of the Cistercian order, the Leoncel Cistercian Abbey is a Romane abbey church. Its monastery was one of the most important of the Vercors by its influence and the scope of its time domain, which was supplemented by settlements, in the lowlands of Valence, in the region of Royans and on the foothills of the Vercors.

The Abbey of Leoncel can be visited every day during the summer.
